Don't leave it to the landlord
If you rent your home, it’s usually your landlord’s responsibility to arrange buildings insurance to cover the structure of your home and permanent fixtures and fittings like kitchens, bathrooms and fitted wardrobes. But that wouldn’t cover the contents of your home (the stuff that belongs to you) and you would have to find the money to replace if it was damaged or stolen.
Privilege can arrange contents insurance for you as a tenant, provided that the furnishings are your own, and are not the property of your landlord.
Privilege’s home contents insurance cover is what’s known as ‘new-for-old’. Which means that if you make a claim, we won’t just give you today’s value for items that might be a few years old now, we’ll replace them with brand new ones right to your door (where possible). And it’s not just the possessions kept in your house that are covered, our home contents insurance covers what’s in your garage and shed too, as well as up to £1000 for contents in your garden.
Contents insurance also covers against accidental damage to your TV, computer, home entertainment systems and freezer contents as standard.
For full details of standard and Platinum cover, you can read our Privilege Home Contents Insurance Policies online.
