When you are in the midst of moving house, the last thing you want to think about is switching your home insurance.  UK homeowners, however, could be missing a trick by not shopping around for potential savings.

Research carried out for Privilege (by YouGov in September 2005) found that, when it comes to home insurance, UK homeowners were sticking with cover from their mortgage provider (65 per cent) because it was the ‘convenient option’.

This inertia means that homeowners are missing out on great deals on home insurance, UK wide.   Privilege, for example, offers 50 per cent off your contents insurance when you buy buildings and contents together, and a 15 per cent discount when you buy online (25 per cent if you already have a Privilege car insurance policy).
